The scent-free base is genuinely useful for layering, but as everywhere in the brand, no specific compounds are disclosed, so you're adding an unspecified concentrate rather than a known stack. For flexibility, it works. If you want to know exactly what you're layering, a disclosed brand's unscented additive is the better choice.
