Privacy policy.
We don't collect names, emails, or account details. This page covers the anonymous traffic data we do collect, which tools handle it, and how to turn them off.
What gets collected and when.
Pheromonescout.com has no user accounts, no contact forms that process data on our end, and no newsletter signup. The only data collected is anonymous traffic data: pages visited, referral sources, session duration, device type, and approximate location (country and region, not precise GPS).
That data only flows if you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner. If you decline, neither analytics tool loads.
Two tools are active when analytics consent is given:
Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-5599ZP4S) loads Google Analytics, which records the traffic data listed above. Google processes this under their own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
PostHog records similar data: page views, clickstreams, and session patterns, used to understand how visitors navigate the site. PostHog's privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.
Two categories. One always set.
Strictly necessary: a single cookie (cc_cookie) from the open-source cookieconsent library that stores your preference. It's set when you interact with the banner and expires after 182 days. Without it, the site can't remember that you declined and would show the banner on every visit.
Analytics (only if accepted): Google Analytics sets _ga (two-year expiry) and _gid (24-hour expiry). PostHog sets a session cookie with a ph_ prefix. If you later withdraw consent, these cookies are cleared automatically.

Email sign-up.
The site includes a newsletter sign-up form. If you submit your email address, it's stored by the email platform we use to send the Scout Dispatch. We use that address only to send the newsletter and won't share it with anyone else. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also request deletion by writing to pheromonescout@proton.me.
Who else sees the data.
Outside of Google (via GTM) and PostHog for analytics, we don't share data with anyone. The site includes affiliate links to merchants including Amazon and brand direct stores, but clicking those links is your own action. We don't pass identifying information to merchants when you click through.
We don't sell data. There's nothing to sell.
GDPR and CCPA.
EU and UK visitors (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold. In practice we hold none, but if you have a request, write to pheromonescout@proton.me. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time via the cookie banner above.
California visitors (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you and to opt out of its sale. We don't collect personal information and we don't sell data.
Children, changes, contact.
Children: this site is not directed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes: if this policy changes materially, the revised date at the top of this page updates. We don't send notifications.
